The CID,probing the mysterious death of two boys while studying in religious guru Asaram Bapu’s ashram last year, has said that “black magic” may have been practiced inside the ashram.

The revelation comes a year after the mysterious death of two boys – Dipesh and Abhishekh Waghela who were studying in Asaram Bapu’s gurukul.

In an affidavit filed by the State CID (crime) in the Gujarat High Court,it has been further stated that “some disciples of Asaram knew about it and were trying to conceal the information”.

The investigating officer in the case H B Rajput, who filed the affidavit yesterday, had stated that the conclusion was made following a lie detection test of three disciples of Asaram.

The disciples,Minketan Patra,Vikas Khemka and Uday Sanghani, were present in the ashram when the two boys died mysteriously,it added.

The parents of the two boys had filed a petition demanding that the probe be handed over to CBI as the CID (crime) was still clueless about cause of the boys’ death.

Bodies of the two boys were found two days after they went missing last year on the banks of river Sabarmati. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for July 15 in the court of Justice H N Devani.
