BJP block president shot dead

The president of the BJP unit in Bolba block of Simdega district Umashankar Jaiswal was today shot dead by unidentified assailants,police said.

Two unidentified miscreants came on a motorcycle and shot dead Jaiswal at Pakarbahar village,Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar said.

Jaiswal was a businessman by profession.

Preliminary probe suggested that a criminal gang committed the crime,the SP said adding that in 2007,Jaiswal’s younger brother Ganga Jaiswal was also killed by the same group.

Ganga was also a BJP leader.
