Ansari undergoes surgery, doing well

Ansari, 62, was admitted to the hospital Saturday night.

Vice-President Hamid Ansari Sunday successfully underwent a pre-scheduled preventive airway surgery here at AIIMS. Following the operation, under general anaesthesia, for removing a mass from the airway, the Vice-President is recovering well and is in good spirits, a statement said.

Ansari, 62, was admitted to the hospital Saturday night. The doctors, led by Prof Suresh C Sharma, Head of ENT Department, and Prof Anjan Trikha, Department of Anaesthesiology, are monitoring the parameters of the Vice-President and they are satisfied with his post-operation recovery, it said.
