Anna Hazare’s health deteriorates as he refuses to end fast

Doctors who examined Anna Hazare on Monday afternoon said that the activist had lost 4.3 kgs of body weight in last six days of fasting and was feeling “considerably weak”. They said that they have advised Anna to take glucose water but the activist has refused.

“Although his blood pressure,respiration and pulse is normal,Annaji is feeling considerably weak on Monday. He has lost 200 gms of body weight since Sunday. We advised him to take glucose water to recover from the weakness but he is refusing to do so,” said a physician from B J Medical College,Pune who examined the activist.

A well equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been set up in a room next to Hazare’s to give the 75-year-old activist medical care if need be.
