90-year-old woman found murdered

A 90-year-old woman was found murdered on Thursday in her home in Shastri Nagar here. According to the police,the house where the woman was found dead was burgled late on Wednesday night,however,the victim’s body was found on Thursday morning by her son-in-law when he came home.

Mohini Seth,the victim lived with her daughter,son-in-law,son and daughter-in-law,police said. “On Wednesday night,the thieves could have scaled the wall,broken open the window and entered the room where she was assumed to have kept her belongings,” Annat Dev,SP (city) said.

The cops are still looking for leads that could have led to the murder. The woman was strangled,according to the police. “The assailants though,fled with some jewellery and valuables,the victim’s chain and a ring along with a wallet was found lying with the murdered woman,” added the SP.

The police assumes that the entry into the house was friendly since the dog in the house did not bark and even the lock was not broken. “We still are looking for some crucial leads in the case,” SP City said.
