A 21-year-old woman was killed and her 45-year-old father sustained injuries after the three-storied building they were living in Baran district collapsed.
The deceased was identified as Sona Sen (21) and her father was identified as Ramkalyan Sen (45) who sustained injuries in the incident, said Vijay Shankar Sharma, SHO at Chhabra police station.
The building in Nadi Mohalla area where the family of Sen was living collapsed last night around 11 pm, the SHO said adding the father and daughter at the time of incident were sleeping on the third floor while the other members were away for Kirtan in a nearby temple.
The two were rescued from the debris around 2 am with the help of locals, the SHO added.
Some houses near the collapsed building also sustained damage in the incident, the SHO further said.
The injured father is undergoing medical treatment at government hospital in Baran while the dead body of the woman was handed over to the family members after postmortem this morning, the SHO said adding a case under section 174 of CrPC was lodged in this connection and further investigation is underway.
