CBSE class 10 results 2015: Delhi witnesses decline in pass percentage

The overall pass (qualifying) percentage of candidates in School-based system stood at 96.6 per cent and that of Board- based system at 94.81 per cent.

Delhi region continued to witness a decline in overall pass percentage of students taking CBSE Class X examinations, with 96.29 per cent emerging successful this year. Last year, the pass percentage was 98.31 while in 2013 it was 98.40.

In the CBSE Class X results which were announced on Thursday, a total of 2,65,064 candidates 136319 boys and 128745 girls from Delhi region qualified the examination.

Delhi region was the largest region of CBSE in terms of numbers of candidates, a total of 275472, registering for Class X examination this year.

The region, however, was placed at 9th position among the 10 regions of CBSE in terms of overall pass percentage. Girls registered a higher overall pass percentage of 97.23 as compared to the 95.42 of boys.

A total of 8026 students scored the perfect 10 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) while 3129 got 9.8 CGPA.

The number of students who appeared in Class X examination under Board-based system was 51,742 while 2,23,604 candidates took the examination under School-based system of evaluation. The success rate of students in School-based system was better than those in Board-based system.

The overall pass (qualifying) percentage of candidates in School-based system stood at 96.6 per cent and that of Board- based system at 94.81 per cent.

The pass percentages of institutions ranged from the highest of 97.37 in case of Independent (private) schools to Government schools 95.82 and Government-aided schools 90.42.

Candidates of Kendriya Vidyalays and Navodaya Vidyalayas gave their best result recording an overall pass percentage of 99.48 and 99.30, respectively.

Class X examination was held this year at 2154 schools in Delhi region. The number of students under Compartment category this year is 2154, CBSE Controller of Exam K K Choudhury said.
