Delhi Metro timings: DMRC revises train schedule at New Delhi, Anand Vihar stations to manage post-Chhath puja rush

Delhi Metro latest update: To facilitate passengers returning to Delhi-NCR after Chhath Puja, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced revised train timings for five days, from October 30 to November 3. Being the country’s longest metro network, the Delhi Metro is considered to be the lifeline for Delhiites.

With a total route length of 394 km, the Delhi Metro (DMRC) covers 289 stations on 12 corridors (including the Noida Metro Aqua Line and Rapid Metro Gurugram).

Delhi Metro timings

To manage post-Chhath puja rush, the DMRC will operate additional trains in the early morning hours from New Delhi metro station (Yellow Line) and Anand Vihar ISBT Metro station (Blue/Pink Line). The move aims at ensuring a smooth and convenient journey for the passengers arriving at New Delhi (NDLS) and Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT) railway stations.

Delhi Metro first train timings

Following DMRC’s announcement of early resumption of metro services, the first train will now depart from both New Delhi and Anand Vihar ISBT metro stations at 5:15 am.

Usually, the first train from New Delhi station towards Millennium City Centre Gurugram begins at 5:45 am, while the first train from Anand Vihar ISBT towards Dwarka Sector 21 departs at 6:05 am.

“Interchange facilities are available at all major interchange stations across the network,” DMRC said in a statement.

GRAP 2 in Delhi: DMRC to run additional trains

Meanwhile, the DMRC has introduced 40 additional train trips across its corridors from Monday (October 27) following the implementation of GRAP-II in Delhi amid rising pollution levels. If GRAP-III is enforced in the coming days, the DMRC plans to operate 60 additional trips to accommodate commuters.

“The move is aimed at encouraging people to use Metro instead of their own vehicles and help mitigate the deteriorating air quality in the capital city as a collective responsibility,” DMRC said in a statement.
