The new revision will come into effect from October 1 but the increased fares will only be levied from Oct 3 as Oct 1 and 2 fall on a Sunday and a national holiday, respectively. The fares will be, as a result, discounted on both the days.
The order came after the court noted the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's submissions on affidavit that there were 128 water dispensing kiosks and over 200 shops in the stations where water was available, but at a price.
