Delhi blast Red Fort, Delhi blast news:Northern Railway (NR) has tightened security at five railway stations in Delhi division following the blast near Red Fort.
Speaking to IndianExpress.com, Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) has confirmed about the development. He added that security personnel have been deployed at entry gates, exit points and across platforms.
“Security has been tightened at New Delhi Railway Station, Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Ghaziabad. RPF personnel have been deployed at entry gates, exit points and across platforms. Dog squads are conducting checks, and all staff members have been placed on high alert,” Upadhyay said.
He further stated that a close coordination is being maintained with the GRP. “Close coordination is being maintained with the GRP. The railway premises and surrounding areas are being monitored through CCTV, and checks are being conducted on individuals with suspicious behaviour. Dog squads are also stationed on the platforms,” the CPRO said.
Delhi blast latest update
At least eight people have been killed and several others injured in the explosion. A high alert has been sounded in Delhi. The blast reportedly took place in a car outside the Lal Quila (Red Fort) metro station in a car on Monday evening. The nature of the explosion is not known yet.
