Nirupama’s mother to file fresh plea

A day after she filed a petition in court seeking bail,the mother of deceased journalist Nirupama withdrew it to make a fresh appeal with additional inputs.

A day after she filed a petition in court seeking bail,Sudha Pathak,the mother of deceased journalist Nirupama,on Friday withdrew it to make a fresh appeal with additional inputs.

Her counsel pleaded before Chief Judicial Magistrate N K Aggarwal here that she was withdrawing her bail petition to add some more documents.

Sudha was arrested and remanded in judicial custody in connection with her 22-year-old daughter’s death under mysterious circumstances on April 29. She had petitioned for bail yesterday.

The police,investigating among other angles whether the incident was connected to ‘honour killing’,have also filed a case of rape and abetment to suicide against Nirupama’s boyfriend Priyabhanshu Ranjan on the direction of the local court.
