Manhunt on for movie producer Phiroz Vaghela who threatened to kill actress

Movie actress Karishma Appa Saheb Maske alleged that the producer had entered her hotel room.

The police is on the hunt for Phiroz Vaghela,a movie producer who allegedly threatened to throw acid and kill an actress,if she refused to marry him.

Police inspector A L Chaudhary of the Raopura police station located in the city told PTI today that “The police has been trying to trace him after a movie actress lodged a

complaint against him”.

In her complaint,movie actress Karishma Appa Saheb Maske alleged that the producer had entered her hotel room,when she was alone last Monday night and proposed marriage.

“I refused,saying that he is a married man and a father of three children,adding that I want to continue acting,” she alleged in her complaint.

Allegedly,he reacted by beating her and pulling her hair,besides threatening to throw acid on her and kill her. Soon after this incident,she left the hotel room and went to her friend’s house,she said and then lodged the complaint.

She had been working in Gujarati movies for the past couple of years and her co-star Chandrajivan Sonavane had introduced Phiroz Vaghela to her about two years ago,the police said.

Vaghela had introduced himself as a producer,who was also associated with the real estate and construction industry.

She was shocked when he proposed marriage to her and threatened to kill her,she said.

The police is investigating the matter.
