What does the complaint that led to actor Allu Arjun’s arrest say?

Speaking to The Indian Express on Friday evening, Bhaskar said, “I believe the law should take its course. I really don't know what to say about Allu Arjun’s arrest. I am worried about my son right now.”

The police complaint that ultimately led to the arrest of actor Allu Arjun was filed by Mogudampalli Bhaskar, husband of 39-year-old M Revathi, who died in a stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4 during the premiere of Pushpa 2.

Hours after the stampede, during which Revathi and her son were separated from Bhaskar and their two-year-old daughter, he found that his wife had died and his son was in a hospital.

Speaking to The Indian Express on Friday evening, Bhaskar said, “I believe the law should take its course. I really don’t know what to say about Allu Arjun’s arrest. I am worried about my son right now.”

In his complaint, filed on December 5, Bhaskar said that he didn’t know whether to make arrangements for his wife’s funeral or attend to his son. After the funeral, Bhaskar went to the police station at about 4 pm and handed over the complaint.

“My wife has expired, and my son is being treated in a hospital,” he wrote in the complaint, written in Telugu. He wrote that the family had planned to watch the film’s premiere at Sandhya Theatre in Chikkadpally.

He said that at 9.10 pm, the theatre was packed. Around 9.40 pm, before the arrival of Allu Arjun and the film’s other cast members, security persons started removing the crowd from the theatre to make space for their entry.

He wrote in the complaint that there were no prior arrangements or facilities for such a large crowd at the theatre. The theatre allowed the crowd to enter, and when they were asked to vacate their seats, some people were pushed and fell, including his wife and son.

He said his wife and son, who were in the lower balcony hall, were unable to breathe.

In his complaint, Bhaskar alleged that Sandhya Theatre management and staff were responsible for the incident, while the reason for the crowd pushing and surging forward was actor Allu Arjun and his personal security staff.

Based on this complaint, officials at Chikadpally police station registered an FIR against Sandhya Theatre management, Arjun and his personal security. On December 9, M Sandeep, a partner of Sandhya Theatre; M Nagaraju, manager of the theatre; and G Vijay Chander, in charge of the lower balcony where the stampede occurred, were arrested.
