The Rajasthan Police has filed a charge-sheet in the murder of Nasir and Junaid against three persons while investigation has been kept pending against 27, officials said.
Junaid and Nasir had gone missing on February 15 this year and a day later, their charred bodies were found in Loharu in Haryana’s Bhiwani district. They were allegedly killed by cow vigilantes who suspected them of carrying cattle illegally, but when they did not find any, they assaulted and burnt the duo to destroy all evidence.
IG, Bharatpur Range, Gaurav Srivastava said, “The story remains
the same that teams (of cow vigilantes) from Jind-Bhiwani and Karnal joined the teams already operating in Mewat. Rinku had prior Intel about the movement of Nasir and Junaid through some local sources.”
Rinku was the key link who shared this information with other teams and was involved in setting up the blockade and assault, etc. However, while he did not know everybody in the teams from outside, the police managed to figure out the role of more accused through Monu Rana and Gogi, including those who supported the accused while they absconded.
The IG said that investigation has been kept pending against 27 others under CrPC 173 (8). These are Mohit alias Monu Manesar, Shrikant Marora, Anil Moolthan, Lokesh Singla, Vikas Arya, Vishal Jaitley, Kalu alias Krishna, Badal, Shashikant, Kishor, Shivam, Tushar, Rajveer, Pravesh Boxer, Ravindra alias Kaliya, Sukhvinder alias Sukkhi, Aasu Jogda, Ramesh alias Messa, Bhola Silani, Manoj Guhana, Yogendra Acharya, Azad Acharya, Deepak Maltora, Sanjay Parma, Navneet, Bholu and Devilal.
Like the three arrested, all 27 hail from Haryana. As per police, they have found evidence of kidnapping Nasir and Junaid, their assault, murder, destroying evidence, criminal conspiracy, financially helping or protecting other accused while they absconded, against these 27 persons.
