Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at Gannavaram near Vijayawada on Wednesday — for the fourth time after holding the post twice in undivided Andhra Pradesh, and for the second time after the bifurcation of the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister and BJP president J P Nadda, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Coals and Mines G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of States Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and several senior BJP leaders attended the ceremony.

Naidu was sworn in at 11.27 am along with 24 ministers, including Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Konidela Pawan Kalyan, and TDP national general secretary and Naidu’s son N Lokesh Naidu. Three MLAs from the Jana Sena and one from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have found a place in the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet.
BJP Andhra Pradesh president Kinjarapu Atchennaidu, the founder of the Narayana Group of educational institutions Dr Ponguru Narayana, are among the 24 ministers. Apart from Pawan Kalyan, Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh are the two other JSP MLAs. Satya Kumar Yadav is the lone BJP MLA in the Cabinet, which has 12 members from Other Category, 8 Backward Class, 2 Scheduled Caste, one Scheduled Tribe and one Muslim. There are three women in the Cabinet.
Others in the Cabinet are former minister Kollu Ravindra, and Vangalapudi Anita, Dr Nimmala Ramanaidu, N Mohammed Farooq, seven-time MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Payyavula Keshav, Anagani Satya Prasad, Kolusu Parthasaradhi, Dr D Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, and Gottipatti Ravi, and B C Janaradhan Reddy.
First-time MLAs Gummadi Sandhya Rani, T G Bharat, S Savitha, Vasamsetti Subhash, Kondapalli Srinivas, and Mandapalli Ram Prasad Reddy are also among the ministers who took the oath of office. There are four MLAs from Naidu’s Kamma community, four from the Kapu community, and three from the Reddy community while one is a Vysya (OC) member.
