Manish V Desai, the Principal Director General (D-G) of the Central Bureau of Communication, has been appointed the new Principal D-G of the Press Information Bureau (PIB). In his new role, the 1989-batch Indian Information Service (IIS) officer will also be the Centre’s principal spokesperson.
Desai will assume charge on Friday from Rajesh Malhotra, who is superannuating on Thursday. During his career spanning nearly three decades, Desai has worked in various media units of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, including DAVP, AIR News, Prasar Bharati, and the IIMC.
