‘Hardworking karyakarta’: PM Modi, Amit Shah laud Nitin Nabin after his elevation as BJP National Working President

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday appointed Bihar minister Nitin Nabin the party’s National Working President. The party’s Parliamentary Committee announced the decision and Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi congratulated Nabin, calling him “a hardworking Karyakarta”. Union Minister Rajnath Singh also called up Nabin to congratulate him on his appointment.

Taking to X, PM Modi expressed confidence in Nabin.

“He is a young and industrious leader with rich organisational experience and has an impressive record as MLA as well as Minister in Bihar for multiple terms. He has diligently worked to fulfil people’s aspirations. He is known for his humble nature and grounded style of working. I am confident that his energy and dedication will strengthen our Party in the times to come. Congratulations to him on becoming the BJP National Working President,” PM Modi’s post read.

Congratulating Nitin Nabin on his escalation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah posted on X saying, “Be it as the National General Secretary of the BJP Yuva Morcha, or as the State President of the State Youth Wing in Bihar, or as the State In-Charge for Chhattisgarh, Nitin Nabin has fulfilled every responsibility of the organization with complete dedication and success. In Bihar, having served five times as a legislator and as a minister in the state government, he possesses extensive experience of working among the people.”

His elevation today to the position of National General Secretary is an honour for every young BJP worker who toils day and night, wrote Amit Shah in his post on X.

BJP president J P Nadda congratulated Bihar minister Nitin Nabin on his appointment as the party’s National General Secretary, expressing confidence that the organisation would scale new heights under his leadership.

In a post on X, Nadda described Nitin Nabin as a “dynamic BJP leader from the sacred land of knowledge and culture, Bihar”, and said he was confident that “under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Nabin’s leadership, the party would establish new dimensions with the sentiments of nation-building and public service.”

Bihar Assembly performance

During the Bihar Assembly elections held last month, Nitin Nabin won the Bankipur assembly seat, defeating Akhilesh Kumar (IND), Niranjan Kumar Achary (Right to Recall Party), Pankaj Kumar (AAP), Prabhash Chandra Sharma (Jagrook Janta Party), Ravi Kumar (IND), Rekha Kumari (RJD), S. Sajjad Hussain Akhter (IND), Vandana Kumari (Jan Suraaj Party).

In the previous Assembly elections in 2020, the BJP’s Nitin Nabin won by a margin of 39036 votes. The INC’s Luv Sinha was the runner up securing 44032 votes.
