4 from Hyderabad killed as car bursts into flames in US road crash

The Hyderabad family of four had moved to Dallas in the US three years ago.

The family of six had gone to Atlanta for July 4 (US Independence Day), where Srivenkat’s sister Deepika lives.

A family of four, originally hailing from Hyderabad, was killed in a car crash in Greene County, the United States, on Monday.

B Srivenkat, 40, and his wife Ch Tejaswini, 36, and two children – Sidhartha, 9, and Mrida, 7 – were on their way from Atlanta to Dallas when the accident took place. Their car burst into flames after being hit by a minitruck, going in the wrong direction. The family was charred to death, local authorities have told the deceased’s parents.

The family of four had moved to Dallas in the US three years ago. Srivenkat’s father Pashupatinath and mother Girija had also moved from Hyderabad to Dallas. The family originally hails from Trimulgherry in Hyderabad.

The family of six had gone to Atlanta for July 4 (US Independence Day), where Srivenkat’s sister Deepika lives. After staying for a few days, the grandparents stayed back with Deepika and Srivenkat’s family returned to Dallas.

The authorities are conducting forensic examinations, including dental record verification and DNA testing, to confirm the identities before releasing the mortal remains to the family, US authorities said.
