Content creator and actor Kusha Kapila recently announced her separation from husband Zorawar Ahluwalia. After the announcement, a video of Karan Johar advising her about relationships and infidelity went viral, leading people to troll Kusha. Zorawar said that he is ‘sad’ and ‘disappointed’ with the way people are treating Kusha after the separation announcement.

Zorawar left a note on social media to shut down the social media attacks Kusha has been subjected to. He said that the decision to get divorced was mutual, and it is ‘shameful’ of people to attack Kusha’s character based on their decision.

He wrote, “We realise we live public lives, but we still hold certain things sacred. Our marriage and respect for each other being one of them. Divorce, much like our marriage, was a decision we both made together, after much deliberation and thought. It was a tough and painful decision but one we took collectively, for the sake of both of our well-being.”

Zorawar Ahluvalia shared the note on social media.

Zorawar continued, “What has transpired over the last 24 hours, with Kusha being subject to vile attacks online makes me sad and disappointed. To attack Kusha’s character and paint her as some villain is shameful. Let’s all please do better.” He added a folded hands emoji at the end of his note.

In a joint statement announcing their divorce, Kusha and Zorawar sought “love, respect and support” from their fans.

But as soon as the Masaba Masaba actor shared the news of her separation on social media, people were quick to dig out her old video in which she expressed her views on infidelity. In the old video, Karan Johar told Kusha on a talk show, “Remember sexual infidelity is not infidelity.” Kusha agreed with his statement and said, “I believe that.” Her statement did not go down well online.

Kusha Kapila and Zorawar Ahluwalia met at a friend’s wedding in 2012. They got married in 2017 after dating for a few years.
