When it was announced that Rana Daggubati and his uncle and superstar Venkatesh were set to star in Rana Naidu, the official adaptation of Ray Donovan, which featured Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight as the leads, it felt like casting against the grain. But after the first season played out in 2023, it was clear that the makers made the right choices. On Monday, Netflix, at the Next on Netflix event, shared that the second season of Rana Naidu would premiere this year. Interestingly, apart from the cast of Venkatesh, Rana, and Surveen Chawla, Arjun Rampal was announced as the newest entrant to the cast. The makers also revealed that the second part wasn't an afterthought after the success of the first, but was always going to happen. However, as such things go, there is a story that hasn't been completed in the past that returns to threaten the future of the Naidus. And this story revolves around a ruthless underworld figure, played by Arjun Rampal. We also see the old wounds between Rana and Teja continue to fester as newer ones, courtesy Arjun's character, coming into play.
