Manisha Rani entered Bigg Boss OTT 2 in style, with the promise to win hearts. Her flirty banter, first with Jad Hadid and then Elvish Yadav brought smiles to audiences’ faces. However, there was a section that felt she ‘overdid’ it to garner attention. The social media star remains unfazed by the negativity and shared that her intentions were always to have fun and not offend anyone.

Even in the house, her demands of ‘chumma’ were questioned, while fans too felt she was getting too close to Jad and Elvish. Defending herself, Manisha told indianexpress.com that she never really kissed anyone and was only having fun. “Every time they responded, I would stop them saying my father is watching the show. I know my limits and whatever was happening, it was all in fun. My family also understands that and I hope people also see it with a broader lens. I have never crossed my boundary with anyone. I would just tease Elvish as he’s a shy guy and it was fun to see him getting rattled.”

And for people targeting her character online, Manisha had a hilarious response. She said, “Tu kare toh ras leela, main karu toh character dheela,” she laughed. The actor added that if someone was to really do something wrong, they wouldn’t announce it. “I was always vocal that I would flirt or tease them in a healthy way. Also, I am someone who cracks jokes with everyone around them, that’s who I am. I don’t think my character can be defined by these incidents as my intention was always to make people laugh.”

Talking about her journey, the second runner-up said that it still feels like a dream to have been on Bigg Boss. Expressing her joy she added, “I have made my hometown proud. It’s a historical thing for Munger and its people that a girl has reached so far. It’s not common for people from small towns to come this far. I hope to be an inspiration for many others. I am sure when I go back, I would be welcomed like a star.”

While Abhishek Malhan and Jiya Shankar‘s bond was loved by many, his friendship with Manisha also found many admirers. As fans shipped ‘Abhisha’ to be together, Manisha shared that they were best friends and had a platonic bond. “Firstly, he is so tall, how would he even romance me (laughs)? But we really had a pure bond and our friendship was more special than a love story.”

She also addressed Salman Khan’s anger towards her which was seen as quite harsh. “Yes, he would get very angry sometimes. Salman sir is my first crush, so I would get hurt by his words and actually sulk over it. However, I realised that he was trying to motivate me because I had the potential to do better. So I will take it as a positive approach,” she said,

On a final note, Manisha spoke about standing up against Pooja Bhat. She said that even if it was Alia Bhatt, she would never support the wrong side. “I know she has a lot more experience than me and I did get to learn a lot from her. However, that doesn’t make her right all the time. Whenever I felt she was wrong, like during the casting task where she put me as a villain, I voiced my thoughts. I know for sure that audience will look at me for entertainment but I can never be the villain of the house.”
