Khakee The Bengal Chapter trailer: Neeraj Pandey stirs up quite the storm, Prosenjit Chatterjee says, ‘If a character gives me sleepless nights, I never discuss the money’
At the trailer launch of Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, Prosenjit Chatterjee shared that he had been seeking a role challenging enough to keep him up at night—soon after, Neeraj Pandey offered him this show.
Neeraj Pandey’s Khakee: The Bengal Chapter will stream on Netflix.
Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, known for helming thrillers like A Wednesday!, Special 26 and Baby among others, is set to return with Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, streaming on Netflix from March 20. The second installment of his popular Khakee franchise presents a fresh storyline with a completely new cast, this time set in Bengal. The gripping trailer for the seven-episode web series was unveiled on Wednesday.
Unlike Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, The Bengal Chapter is not based on real incidents. The story revolves around a police officer trying to curb crimes in Kolkata even as he gets embroiled in a political nexus.

Talking about Khakee: The Bihar Chapter at the trailer launch, its showrunner Neeraj Pandey said, “The world of Khakee has always been about larger-than-life conflicts, high-stakes drama, and nuanced characters that redefine the lines between good and evil. With Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, we take this intensity to a new level. Set against the vivid backdrop of Kolkata, this chapter delves into gripping power struggles and follows a relentless IPS officer who dares to challenge the system. The entire ensemble cast has delivered exceptional performances, ensuring that Khakee: The Bengal Chapter is an evolution of the beloved narrative.”
Prosenjit Chatterjee also shared his experience of working on Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, saying his character is “something I had never played earlier”. He said, “Even I have seen the trailer for the first time today. In the last 14-15 years, I have been trying to do something different, and I don’t know if it’s right or wrong. For this character, when Neeraj Sir first called me, I said yes. Later, I got to know what the character was. I have played lots of different characters. Once, I had also called Jeet asking him to give me a character that gave me sleepless nights. There is no character I have not tried in the last 40 years. But this was something I had never played earlier. This was a challenge for me in terms of the preparations. We are the kind of actors who still go on set and try to execute the director’s vision. Everyone thinks I am a politician in this show, but that we shall only find out on 20th March. I have seen a lot of politicians closely in my life, but I didn’t latch on to any character or impersonate anyone. I have tried by best. Khakee is a team work. The Bihar chapter is a hit, so there was pressure on us.”
Sharing why he chose to play a negative role in the show, he added, “If a character gives me sleepless nights, I never discuss the money. I straightway ask them when they want the dates.” While Jeet and Prosenjit Chatterjee play the central characters in the series, Parambrata Chatterjee will be seen in the show in a special appearance.
Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, Khakee: The Bengal Chapter also stars Saswata Chatterjee, Chitrangda Singh, Aadail Zafar Khan, and Rithvik Bhowmick in important roles.
