According to Variety, Marvel Studio Chief Kevin Feige announced the series’ dates during Disney’s upfront on Tuesday. Fans can indulge in a binge-watching session of ‘Echo’ starting from November 29, 2023. ‘Echo’ will continue the story of Maya Lopez (played by Alaqua Cox), the deaf Native American assassin initially introduced as a hesitant antagonist in the 2021 Disney+ series ‘Hawkeye,’ which chronicled the adventures of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop.
The original series followed the events post ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ where Jeremy Renner‘s Hawkeye teams up with Kate to unravel a murder mystery and reunite with their families.
Feige praised the “incredible team of indigenous writers, directors, and cast members” involved in the captivating drama series.
This announcement confirms that Marvel is significantly reducing the pace of its Disney+ releases after unveiling 11 titles on the streaming platform in 2021 and 2022. Initially, Marvel had planned for five live-action shows to premiere in 2023.
Alongside the second season of “Loki,” “Echo,” and the upcoming Samuel L. Jackson series “Secret Invasion” (premiering on June 21), the spinoffs ‘Ironheart’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ from ‘WandaVision’ were previously announced for this year. However, ‘Ironheart’ and “Agatha” are now expected to debut in 2024.
