After Rocket Boys, a series that spoke about the space and nuclear revolution of India through the illustrious lives of Dr Homi Bhabha and Dr Vikram Sarabhai, Nikkhil Advani is back on SonyLIV with Freedom at Midnight. Created and directed by Nikkhil, Freedom at Midnight delves into how Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru became the first Prime Minister of Independent India.
In the first teaser of Freedom at Midnight, we see the Congress working committee coming together to select the first Prime Minister, and Maulana Azad (Pawan Chopra) declares that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (Rajendra Chawla), the President of the Congress party, is the winning candidate. However, Mahatma Gandhi (Chirag Vohra) enters the hall, and talks highly about the services of Sardar Patel, and hands him a paper, which reads “Nomination Withdrawal Form.” He goes on to announce that the party needs the Ironman, but Jawaharlal Nehru (Siddhant Gupta) should become the first Prime Minister. The clip ends with the note, “The history you may not know. The history you should know. Presenting the first drop of the electrifying story of India’s independence.”
