Comedian-actor Zakir Khan has been busy creating history but looks like his back-to-back stage gigs and busy schedule have taken a toll on his health. Zakir has now announced that he will take a break from his tours and the stage.
On September 6, 2025, via Instagram, Zakir revealed that he has been feeling unwell for over a year but continued to push through because it “felt necessary at the time.” He acknowledged that his rigorous lifestyle—touring extensively for a decade, doing 2–3 shows a day, enduring sleepless nights, early flights, and erratic meals—has taken a toll on his well-being. It was a decision he had been delaying, but he emphasized he must act “before it is too late.”
Although committing to self-care, Zakir will still proceed with his “Papa Yaar” India tour, but with a limited schedule. After completing this selected set of performances, he has been advised to take an extended break.
Zakir Khan shared a candid health update with his fans, citing health woes. In an Instagram story titled “The Health Update”, the 38-year-old comedian opened up about feeling unwell for over a year.
His post read, “I’ve been touring for the last ten years. Though I’m extremely blessed to receive your love and affection, touring this extensively is not good and very healthy. Trying to satisfy everyone you meet, 2-3 shows in a day, sleepless nights, early morning flight, and of course, no timetable for meals. I’ve been unwell for a year, but I had to work because it was important to do at that time.”
He further added, “I absolutely love being on stage, but I’ll have to take a break now. I don’t wish to do so but I was ignoring this for a year now. But now I feel, before it’s too late, I better take it now. Hence, this time we will do an India tour in limited cities, I won’t be able to add more shows, and after doing this special record, I’ve been advised to go on a long break.”
In a follow-up post, Zakir Khan revealed that his upcoming India tour, titled “Papa Yaar”, will feature a limited number of shows. He also clarified that there will be no shows in Indore and requested his fans to attend his Bhopal performance instead.
The “Papa Yaar” India tour is slated to begin on October 24, 2025, and run through January 11, 2026 and Zakir was initially slated to perform across cities including Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhopal, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Mangalore.
Zakir’s transparency underscores the importance of prioritising health and his fans are loving this. Although he’s stepping back from his full performance schedule, fans can still catch him on a shorter, more sustainable tour, followed by healthier rest.
