‘Cha Eun Woo, don’t you feel ashamed’: Garo Sero accuses ASTRO member of ‘ignoring’ Kim Sae Ron

Garo Sero drags Cha Eun Woo into Kim Sae Ron’s controversy

According to KBIzoom, just hours after releasing KakaoTalk exchanges between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron, Garo Sero host Kim Se Ui called out the True Beauty star, criticising his behaviour toward the late actor. He began by pointing out that Kim Sae Ron was once a child actor under Fantagio, the same agency as ASTRO. She reportedly shared a close bond with the late Moonbin (ASTRO member) and, because of him, was also friendly with Cha Eun Woo. Garo Sero claimed that after Moonbin’s passing, Sae Ron wrote a heartfelt letter mourning him, yet when tragedy struck her, Eun Woo was nowhere to be seen. “Cha Eun Woo, don’t you feel ashamed? Kim Sae Ron used to be close with both you and Moonbin, but you didn’t attend her funeral. Just sending a flower wreath — is that all she meant to you?” Garo Sero said in their recent broadcast.

What should have been a day of celebration for Cha Eun Woo’s 28th birthday is shaping up to be yet another major controversy. Kim Se ui further accused the K-pop idol’s manager of playing a key role in exposing Kim Sae Ron to public scrutiny. According to Se Ui, Eun Woo’s manager at Fantagio was the one who gave Dispatch (a well-known South Korean news outlet) pictures of Sae Ron at a poker bar. These images, which surfaced during an already tough time for the actor (during her DUI incident),  sparked another round of backlash against her. The host even went as far as to call the manager “Dispatch’s dog,” suggesting he was working closely with the media to control the narrative.

For the unversed, Sae Ron was originally under Fantagio, the same agency as ASTRO, before she moved to Gold Medalist, where she worked alongside actor Kim Soo Hyun.

Alleged pressure on Kim Sae Ron’s family

Kim Se Ui further alleged that Cha Eun Woo’s manager personally contacted Kim Sae Ron’s family when the scandal first broke in an attempt to convince them to stop talking to Garo Sero and instead meet with Kim Soo Hyun. “The manager tries to convince the bereaved to meet up with Kim Soo Hyun and to stop talking to me. Then, he offers to connect the family to a ‘good press.’ Guess which press called the family right after? Dispatch. What has Dispatch done to Kim Sae Ron, though?” The host questioned how Dispatch obtained the poker bar pictures in the first place, claiming that only someone close to Sae Ron could have leaked them.

The accusations have left fans divided. Some are defending Cha Eun Woo, arguing that he has nothing to do with his manager’s alleged actions, while others are questioning whether there’s more to the story. As of now, neither Eun Woo nor Fantagio has responded to the claims.
