Actor Manoj Bajpayee is currently enjoying the release of The Family Man season 3, which has received positive reviews for the most part. The actor who is going around town promoting the new season has been talking at length about his co-stars and his other contemporaries. During a recent interview, Bajpayee took some light jabs at director Anurag Kashyap and said that the filmmaker was in fact jealous of him.
While talking to Showsha, Bajpayee was asked about the viral incident that took place during an event for his film Jugnuma. While posing with Bajpayee, Kashyap suddenly started touching the actor’s feet. Actors Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Verma, who were also present there, followed suit, making for a very funny moment.

Recalling the incident, Bajpayee said, “That was instigated by Anurag Kashyap. He is actually jealous of me as to how I look. He doesn’t care about his health, and I take care of myself. The other day I cancelled an interview because I wasn’t feeling good. It’s how you treat your body and soul, and I am very strict about discipline. I woke up at 5 am today, and I am very careful about what I eat, and Anurag really doesn’t care about that because he likes to eat mutton every day.”
The two aforementioned gentlemen have talked about each other’s careers many times, and the actor has not shied away from calling out his long-time collaborator. During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Bajpayee talked about Anurag’s temper and how it has affected him negatively. “Anurag is standing because of his own conviction. He’s made too many enemies in the process. He’s broken glasses, he’s broken his own hand in anger, he’s fallen sick, but he’s stuck to his guns. He can be a better example for all filmmakers. Because they’re only looking at his films. But they should look at his journey and learn from him,” said Bajpayee.
Other contemporaries of Kashyap have also been openly critical of some of his decisions. During a panel discussion on the Humans of Cinema channel, actor Piyush Mishra told Kashyap to his face that he didn’t like the second half of movies like Gulaal and Dev D. He said, “I’m sorry, Anurag, I know I’m in the film, but I didn’t get the film’s second half. I have no idea what you did. That’s his problem. He makes half a good movie, then he spoils it. It’s like he can’t believe that he’s made such a good movie. He thinks, ‘Wow, this is a good movie; let’s ruin it. Let’s make a rubbish second half.'”
