Abhishek Malhan aka Fukra Insaan says he’s not threatened by television actors on Bigg Boss OTT 2: ‘TV ka zamana gaya’
Abhishek Malhan aka Fukra Insaan talks about taking up Bigg Boss OTT 2, why his fans love makes him calm and competition from TV actors.

After Bigg Boss OTT 2 makers dropped the teaser, Abhishek Malhan aka Fukra Insaan made the most noise. As soon as people found out the YouTuber was participating in the show, they made him trend on social media and also showered him with support. At the launch, host Salman Khan announced him as the most-voted contestant on the list. For him, the buzz and noise acted as a soothing balm, ironing out all his anxiety.
The popular YouTuber shared that knowledge that so many people love him made him quite relaxed about this ‘new challenge’. “The audience gave me so much positivity. I didn’t sleep the night and was just reading all their comments. Even when my face wasn’t revealed, they knew it was me and created a wave on social media. My fans have asked me to go ahead and play the game, rest they will handle everything,” he told indianexpress.com, hours before entering the show.
Talking about taking up Bigg Boss OTT 2, Abhishek said that it was never a plan, however, he was approached for the TV show initially. Given its long run, he shared that he couldn’t let his channel be inactive and thus decided to say no. “Bigg Boss OTT was for a few weeks and I thought I could shoot a bank and go, and do something new. But I wasn’t too keen but the makers told me it’s going to be bigger than ever, and as they named Salman Khan as the host, I just jumped and said yes,” he shared.

The YouTuber admitted that the show would help him connect with a new set of audience. However, he plans to stick to the streaming platform rather than move to acting. “I know most people want to act but I cannot let go of my roots. On the other hand, I want to get more people to my content.” The reality show is known to be dominated by television stars, and when asked if he’ll feel threatened by their large fan base, Abhishek quipped, “Ab TV ka zamana gaya (The era of TV is gone). That’s all I can say.”

With cameras 24X7 on contestants in the house, Bigg Boss gives audiences a chance to know their favourites better. As he’s already a vlogger, people know him well and thus there would be no ‘surprise factor’. However, Abhishek had an interesting reason stating that he’s always tried to entertain his audience through his content. “But people here will see me in all my elements. They have never seen me fight but I have that side too. While I may not like negativity, if someone does something wrong to me, I wouldn’t hold myself back. My fans have always seen me happy, smiling, and doing fun stuff but through the show, they will know more about me.”
Abhishek Malhan also shared that as he is the first YouTuber in the history of Bigg Boss he also hopes to “create history by winning it”. He added that he’s entering the show with just one aim — to stand besides Salman Khan with the trophy in his hands after six weeks.
Other than Abhishek, Bigg Boss OTT 2 has Pooja Bhatt, Avinash Sachdev, Palak Purswani, Manisha Rani, Aaliya Siddiqui, Akanksha Puri, Jiya Shankar, Falaq Naaz, Cyrus Broacha, Jad Hadid and Bebika Dhurve as contestants. Puneet Kumar aka Puneet Superstar was evicted on the first day after others said they wouldn’t be able to ‘adjust’ with him in the house.
