The Elephant Whisperers’ Bomman and Bellie yet to watch the Oscar-winning Netflix documentary: reports
While The Elephant Whisperers' Bomman shared that he is yet to watch the Oscar-winning documentary, Bellie expressed her happiness about the big win.

Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga’s Netflix documentary The Elephant Whisperers won the Oscar for Best Documentary Short Film at the 95th Academy Awards. The filmmaker credited the couple Bomman and Bellie on the Oscars stage for sharing the sliver of their life that made the documentary special. However, there are reports that the couple themselves are yet to watch the Oscar winning documentary.
Bomman, in a recent interview has shared that he’s yet to watch the documentary. “I still do not know anything about this [Oscar]. But I understand that it is very important because everyone has been telling me that this earned India much glory. So that means a lot to us,” he told Hindustan Times in an interview.
Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, Netflix’s Elephant Whisperers is a documentary about the loving bond between Bomman and Bellie and the two orphaned elephant calves they raised — Raghu and Ammu. Bomman and his wife are members of the Kattunayakar Tribe, a forest community that resides in the Mudumalai Forest Reserve in Tamil Nadu, India.

Bellie, in an earlier interaction with Indian Express, had expressed her happiness that The Elephant Whisperers had won the Oscar. She also noted that a crew member had informed her that they are going to document the lives of the elephant calves and they got all requisite permission from the government. She said, “Now, that it (documentary) has won an award; it is a proud moment for the Forest Department, the Mudhumalai camp, and for us as well.”
The Elephant Whisperers is streaming on Netflix.
