Vijay Deverakonda reveals how Sandeep Reddy Vanga helped him rope in Ranbir Kapoor for Kingdom teaser; Jr NTR insisted on multiple takes
Vijay Deverakonda opened up about how he managed to bring together - Jr NTR, Suriya, and Ranbir Kapoor - to lend their voices to Kingdom's teaser.

Fans are eagerly awaiting Vijay Deverakonda’s return to the big screen with Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Kingdom. Their excitement peaked when the film’s teaser was unveiled in February, featuring voiceovers by Jr NTR, Suriya, and Ranbir Kapoor for the Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi dubbed versions, respectively. Now, in a recent interaction, Vijay opened up about how he managed to bring together these three stars from different film industries to lend their voices to the teaser.
Speaking to NEWS9 Live, Vijay recalled approaching Jr NTR for the voiceover. He said, “When we cut the teaser, we knew we wanted Jr NTR’s voice in it. I went and asked him, and he told me to do it that very evening. I told him the director wasn’t in Chennai and I would want him to do it when the director is in the city, but he told me, ‘You come, we both will do it.’ He asked me to come at 6pm but I thought I will go late so that he is done by the time I reach.
He added, “When I reached the studio, around an hour late, he was just warming-up. He made me sit in the dubbing room and he was so excited. He kept asking for one more take and I had to tell him, ‘Anna it is enough.’ I had only met him once socially before this and this was the first time I had asked him to do something for me and he did it. I feel so special and loved.”
Vijay also revealed that Ranbir Kapoor had agreed to lend his voice to the teaser even before he had the chance to ask. He credited Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Reddy Vanga – who worked with Ranbir in Animal – as the link between them. “I just texted RK and he knew what I was going to ask even before I asked him. I had told Sandeep that I wanted RK’s voice in the film’s Hindi teaser and he had informed RK about it. Even before I asked RK, he said, ‘Of course I am doing your teaser man.’ I was like, ‘I didn’t even ask yet. Let me tell you what is it.’ Even before I asked him he said yes.”
Talking about how he approached Suriya for the Tamil version, Vijay shared, “I called Suriya anna. I told him, ‘I know it is hard for you to say no when I ask something but please say no if you don’t want to do it.’ But he was like, ‘Let’s do it.’ It happened too easily and it added so much weight to the teaser.”
Kingdom, produced by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, also stars Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev. The film is set to hit theaters on May 30.
