The Girlfriend teaser: Rashmika Mandanna’s Pushpa 2 follow-up gets a voice-over and a shoutout from Vijay Deverakonda

The teaser begins with the voiceover of Rashmika’s Dear Comrade co-star Vijay Deverakonda. Through an intense poem, we are introduced to Rashmika’s character, a college-going girl who finds herself in a relationship that makes her go through an entire gamut of emotions. These montage sequences are elevated by the wonderful music of Hesham Abdul Wahab, who is gradually making relationship dramas as his forte. Deekshith Shetty plays the role of Rashmika’s boyfriend in the film, which is in the final leg of shooting.

Sharing the teaser, Vijay Deverakonda wrote a heartwarming note, and praised Rashmika to the skies. “I love every visual of this teaser. I am so excited to see this drama unfold,” wrote Vijay. He went on to explain the professional growth of Rashmika. “She has been a lucky charm for so many of us actors, being part of our biggest successes. Growing fiercely as an actor, a performer and a star but all the while still remaining the same girl as a person, the same girl I met on sets 8 years ago.”

Wishing Rashmika the best for her first project that is solely riding on her shoulders, Vijay said, “Dearest Rahul, who I know will tell a great story that will move every audience.”
