Remember when Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) declared, “Pushpa ante flower anukuntiva? Fireee! (Did you think I’m a mere flower upon hearing my name? I am fire!)”? Well, if it slipped your mind already, it’s better to refresh your memory because the teaser for Pushpa 2: The Rule emphasises that he’s evolved from just a spark to a raging wildfire and mind you, “Thaggedhele (I won’t bow down)” for any reason whatsoever.
The 68-second teaser, released on the occasion of Allu Arjun’s 42nd birthday today, provides a glimpse into the world of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which appears more captivating, ruthless and power-packed than its predecessor, with Pushpa Raj going completely no-holds-barred.
The teaser features Allu Arjun dressed up as Goddess Kali, adorned in a saree, emanating both fury and fearlessness as he strides through a festival scene, while spectators look at him with deep respect.
Helmed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, and Sunil, reprising their respective roles from the first film. What makes Pushpa 2’s arrival even more exciting is the fact that Arjun had bagged the National Film Award for Best Actor for the first movie.
Fans loved the striking Pushpa teaser and called it Allu Arjun’s best. “The best birthday gift from Allu Arjun to his fans,” wrote one while another called it, “True performance”.
Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, along with Sukumar Writings, Pushpa 2: The Rule is said to be one of the most expensive Indian films ever. With music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek, and editing by Karthika Srinivas and Ruben, the highly anticipated film is set to release on August 15, 2024, coinciding with Independence Day.
In our review of Pushpa The Rise, we had noted, “Allu Arjun walks away with the film with his strong performance. He embraces his deglamorized look and delivers a memorable performance.”
