Telugu cinema is growing from strength to strength over the past decade, and it is not just because the films paved inroads into various markets in the country. A sizeable portion of its box-office collections comes from various global markets, especially the USA. With just a couple of weeks left for the release of the much-awaited Pushpa 2: The Rule, the film was expected to do major numbers all over the world. However, in what has come as a pleasant surprise, the Sukumar directorial film has created an impressive record in the pre-bookings in the USA.

This was announced by Prathiyangara Cinemas, who are distributing the Mythri Movie Makers film in the United States of America. Sharing the news, they said, “Pushpa Raj’s dominance is redefining the box office with a new dimension. Another Day, Another Record, Another Feat etched in the history book.”
At an event, the makers expressed their belief that Pushpa 2: The Rule will be Allu Arjun’s maiden entry into the Rs 1000 crore club. With the budget of the film pegged at somewhere close to Rs 400-500 crore, it is imperative for the makers that the film’s response reflects their hopes. Considering the pre-release numbers and hype for its Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil versions, the film is already billed as the blockbuster end to a 2024.
Apart from Allu Arjun, the sequel will see the return of Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli, Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, and Sunil as Mangalam Srinu. Other actors who would be reprising their roles from the first instalment include Anasuya Bhardwaj, Rao Ramesh, Ajay Ghosh, Jagadeesh Prathap Bhandari, Ajay, and Kalpalatha. It was also announced that Sreeleela, the flavor du jour of Telugu cinema, will be seen in a special dance number in Pushpa 2: The Rule.
In an event, makers announced the release date of the sequel will be December 5.
