Pawan Kalyan rejoins the shoot of Hari Hara Veera Mallu; film on track for March release

Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan has been making giant strides in the field of politics with an excellent showing in the recent Andhra Pradesh elections. Having been made the Deputy Chief Minister of the state, his political moves have made news ever since. However, his acting career took an understandable backseat all this while, and he was last seen in the 2023 film, Bro, alongside Sai Durgha Tej. Now, it has been reported that the long-awaited period drama, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, has resumed shooting with Pawan Kalyan joining the Mangalagiri sets.

The Jyothi Krishna film, which is slated for a March 25, 2025 release, is in the final leg of production. The makers have erected the sets in Mangalagiri to ensure that Pawan can easily travel for the shoot from Vijayawada, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. Confirming the news of the actor-politican joining the sets of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, the makers shared a photo, and wrote, “Our Chief, our Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Pawan Kalyan garu has joined the shoot today! More exciting updates coming your way soon. See you all in theatres on 28th March, 2025.”

With a screenplay by Sai Madhav Burra, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is set in the 17th century Mughal empire and is centred around the titular outlaw who is out to steal the Koh-i-noor. The film, which has been on the floors for quite a few years now, faced indefinite delays due to the pandemic, and then Pawan Kalyan’s political career. Initially, Krish Jagarlamudi was directing the film, but he had to part ways with the team after various delays, and Jyothi Krishna took over. The movie, backed by AM Ratnam’s Mega Surya Productions, will now be released in two parts, with the first one titled, Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit.

This period action drama is the first such movie for Pawan Kalyan. Hari Hara Veera Mallu also stars Bobby Deol, Niddhi Agerwal and Anupam Kher. With cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, Academy award-winner MM Keeravani is the composer.

Apart from this project, Pawan Kalyan also has Sujeeth’s OG, co-starring Priyanka Mohan, under production.
