Naga Chaitanya-Sobhita Dhulipala engaged, Nagarjuna shares first photos. Here’s how their ‘infinite love’ began in 2022

Here’s Nagarjuna’s post announcing Naga and Sobhita’s engagement.

For their engagement, both Naga and Sobhita chose outfits by Manish Malhotra. Detailing Sobhita’s peach-coloured sari, Manish wrote, “Draped in a medley of textile specially sourced from the weaving communities of Andhra Pradesh, Sobhita was keen that this personal moment reflect her roots as well as pay homage to its rich traditions. She is wearing Uppada silk (from the region Uppada, Andhra Pradesh) in the golden blush colour of the Kanakaambaram, a traditional temple flower commonly worn in the hair by Telugu women as well as the eternal Padmam (lotus) The silhouette, referenced from paintings of iconic Telugu artist ‘Bapu’ – is a derivation of the classic half-saree style worn by young women of South India.”

The designer also spoke about Chay’s look for his engagement, “Naga Chaitanya is wearing our interpretation of the classic Pattu pancha, laalchi and kanduva- a traditional 3 piece set worn by the men of Andhra Pradesh. The elegance of ivory brocade and muted gold tussar silk is complimented with accents of dori work in antique gold zari.”

Naga Chaitanya, 37, was previously married to noted actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu for four years before divorcing in October, 2021. Naga and Samantha met during the shoot of Ye Maaya Chesave and dated for seven years before tying the knot in 2017. However, due to reasons unknown, the two divorced in 2021. Shortly after that, Samantha also announced that she was battling an auto-immune condition called myositis.

In a statement shortly after the engagement announcement, it was clarified that Naga Chaitanya met Sobhita a few months after his divorce with Samantha. Naga and Sobhita were first spotted together in Hyderabad when Sobhita was promoting her film, Major. She is said to have celebrated her birthday in the city as well, which was attended by Naga as well. It is reported that they clicked during this party, and their bond became stronger with time, and it gradually lead to them dating. They have since been spotted in many places spending quality time with each other in the company of their friends but remained tight-lipped about their relationship.

Wishes started pouring in for Naga and Sobhita from celebrities and netizens alike, and it has added sheen to their relationship that was made formal today. 

On the work front, Naga Chaitanya, who was recently seen in the Amazon Prime Video series, Dhootha, is currently working on Chandoo Mondeti’s Thandel, which also stars Sai Pallavi. Sobhita starred in a pivotal role in Dev Patel’s much-hyped directorial debut, Monkey Man.
