Gujarat Confidential: Courtesy Call?

BJP national general secretary B L Santhosh Monday visited the family of former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in Rajkot. Rupani was killed in the plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12. During the visit, Santhosh met Rupani’s wife Anjaliben and son Rushabh. While political observers call the visit significant, Anjaliben said that it was a courtesy visit by Santhosh as a senior member of the party family. Political circles are curious to know if any member of Rupani’s family will enter into active politics or not. Interestingly when asked the same by media persons following Santhosh’s visit, Anjaliben said that they will follow whatever the party tells. Santhosh is on a visit to the state to hold meetings with party workers on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls. After arriving in Rajkot, Santhosh drove straight to Rupani’s residence in Rajkot.
