Dulquer Salmaan drops subtle hints about being part of Prabhas-Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898 AD

“I can’t reveal anything about Project K. I’ll just tell you, I went to the sets and was blown away (by its grandiose nature). Only Nagi (Nag Ashwin) can think like that. He’s a director who never fails to surprise. Be it Yevade Subramanyam or Mahanati (in which DQ also essayed a key role) and then he goes on to do Project K, which is set in the future. The sets were so amazing. But I don’t know if I am in the film or not,” Dulquer conveyed with laughter.

Nag Ashwin’s fourth directorial venture, Kalki 2898 AD stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in key roles.

Announced under the working title Project K, the official title of the film was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con recently. On the occasion, the makers also unveiled a first-glimpse promo which underlined that Kalki is a dystopian film set in the future. The film blends the aesthetics of Hindu mythology with sci-fi elements. The teaser also indicated that the film will showcase a war between two factions – the oppressed and the oppressor.

Dulquer Salmaan gearing up for King of Kotha, Guns & Gulaabs

Meanwhile, Dulquer is now gearing up for the consecutive releases of two projects: the big-budget action thriller King of Kotha and the comedy crime thriller series Guns & Gulaabs.

Helmed by veteran filmmaker Joshiy’s son Abhilash Joshiy, who is making his directorial debut with the movie, King of Kotha is a period gangster film and will hit theatres on August 24 as an Onam release.

Created by Raj & DK, who are known for popular web shows such as Farzi and The Family Man, Guns & Gulaabs is set in the 1990s and stars Rajkummar Rao, Adarsh Gourav and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles, alongside Dulquer. The series will premiere on Netflix on August 18. This will also mark Dulquer Salmaan’s web series debut.
