Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently basking in the warmth of the love and admiration showered upon her following the success of her recent romantic comedy Kushi. The film holds particular significance for Samantha, given that her previous project, the highly anticipated Shaakuntalam, fell short of expectations and became a box-office bomb.
Helmed by Shiva Nirvana and featuring Samantha alongside Vijay Devarakonda in the lead roles, Kushi has already amassed a worldwide box-office collection of Rs 70.23 crore in just three days.
Singer Chinmayi Sripaada recently expressed her deep admiration and appreciation for Samantha Ruth Prabhu, referring to the actor as an “inspiration”. Taking to Twitter, under the hashtag #SamanthaisAnInspiration, Chinmayi highlighted Samantha’s remarkable kindness, even towards those who subjected her to online abuse.
In a lengthy post in Telugu, Chinmayi consistently concluded each paragraph with the phrase “consider Samantha an inspiration” and recounted Samantha’s triumphant journey, including her resilience in overcoming health challenges.
Mentioning that the actor agreed to take a pay cut when the shooting of her films was delayed owing to her ill health, Chinmayi mentioned that Samantha always focused on her career, quality of work, honesty, sincerity and integrity.
“Despite numerous assertions that her career was finished, Sam reached new levels of success and made a significant impact in both Bollywood and Hollywood too,” the singer stated.
A fortnight ago, while taking part in Kushi’s promotions along with Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Chinmayi Sripaada had called the actor brave and the “nicest woman in the world”. “You are a hero for so many girls and boys,” Chinmayi added.
Helmed by Shiva Nirvana, known for movies like Ninnu Kori and Majili, Kushi premiered on September 1 to mixed reviews.
Giving the film a rating of 2.5 stars, indianexpress.com’s Raghu Bandi noted: “All the actors are seasoned performers who have given their best. The film’s writing, however, fails to explore the depths of the premise. Samantha’s character deserved more development and screen time. Kushi may still appeal to families seeking an entertaining evening with their favourite stars.”
