Tollywood star Allu Arjun’s next film with director Sukumar went on the floors on Wednesday following a customary puja in Hyderabad. Arjun’s dad Allu Aravind and director Koratala Siva were also present along with the main cast and crew of the film.
Rashmika Mandanna, however, had to give the launch event a miss due to her prior work commitments. “Sorry couldn’t make it to the pooja ceremony because of shoots but looking forward to and excited (sic),” she tweeted.
Meanwhile, the regular shooting of Sukumar’s upcoming film will commence soon. It is said that the film is set in the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling in Seshachalam forest. It’s worth noting that Sukumar’s directorial debut Arya (2004), which was also written by him, gave the first major solo break to Arjun. Five years later, he did a sequel to the film, Arya 2, with Arjun again, which was also successful.
Cinematographer Miraslow Cuba Brozek, who shot Nani’s recent film Gang Leader, will also shoot the Allu Arjun starrer.
Arjun is now busy shooting for director Trivikram’s Ala Vaikuntapuramlo. The forthcoming film is Arjun’s third collaboration with Trivikram after hits like Julai (2012) and S/O Satyamurthy (2015).
After completing Sukumar’s untitled film, the Arya star will join the sets of director Sriram Venu for Sri Venkateswara Creations. The project has been titled Icon.
