Akhanda 2 box office collection day 1: The film earned Rs 22.53 crore.Akhanda 2 box office collection day 1: After a week-long delay due to financial disputes, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 finally hit theaters this Friday, receiving a strong response from audiences. According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 22.53 crore on its opening day. When factoring in paid previews held the previous Thursday evening, which brought in an additional Rs 8 crore, the film’s total domestic net collection stands at approximately Rs 30.53 crore. Of the opening day figure of Rs 22.53 crore, the Telugu version contributed the bulk, earning Rs 21.95 crore. Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam versions made Rs 43 lakh, Rs 11 lakh, Rs 3 lakh and Rs 1 lakh, respectively.
With almost 2,000 shows, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 56.93% in Telugu theaters. Morning shows began with 47.24%, dipped slightly to 46.18% in the afternoon, rose to 60% in the evening, and concluded at 74.3% in night shows. By region, Hyderabad led with 751 shows at an occupancy of 61.25%, followed by Bengaluru with 385 shows at 48.25% occupancy. For other languages, Malayalam recorded 30.58%, Tamil 14.71%, Hindi 10.16%, and Kannada 5.66% occupancy.
Akhanda 2 lags slightly behind Balakrishna’s earlier period actioner Daaku Maharaj, which earned Rs 25.35 crore, and of course, way behind his biggest post-pandemic opener Veera Simha Reddy, which grossed Rs 33.6 crore. However, it outperformed his other recent releases, including Bhagavanth Kesari (Rs 14.36 crore) and the original Akhanda from 2021 (Rs 21.2 crore).
In comparison with other recent Telugu releases, Akhanda 2’s opening is stronger than films such as Hit: The Third Case (Rs 21 crore), Kubera (Rs 14.75 crore), and Mirai (Rs 13 crore). It still trails way behind tentpole releases like They Call Him OG (Rs 63.75 crore) and Game Changer (Rs 51 crore). But, overall, Akhanda 2 has had a solid opening, and now its performance over the weekend will be closely watched, especially with competition from The Devil in Kannada, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karon 2 in Hindi, and Mammootty’s Kalamkaval, which continues to perform decently in its second week.
