Sunil Lahri says he is disappointed in people of Ayodhya for ‘betraying their king’: ‘Jinhone sita mata par sandeh kiya tha…’
Sunil Lahri shared multiple stories on his Instagram handle and claimed, "India will never see you with respect."

Sunil Lahri, popularly known for his role as Laxman in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, recently expressed his disappointment in the citizens of Ayodhya for not voting for BJP, the party under whose leadership the Ram temple in Ayodhya was inaugurated in January. On June 4, the much-awaited results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 were announced and in Faizabad, the constituency in Uttar Pradesh where the temple is situated, BJP’s Lallu Singh lost the election. The seat was won by Samajwadi Party candidate Awadhesh Prasad.
On Wednesday, Sunil took to his social media handle to express his disappointment and shared multiple posts on his Instagram. One of his posts read, “We are forgetting that these are the same Ayodhya citizens who doubted Goddess Sita after she returned from exile. What do you call the person who even denies God? Selfish. History stands proof that the citizens of Ayodhya always betrayed their king. Shame on them.”

Another post read, “We salute your greatness dear citizens of Ayodhya, you are the ones who didn’t spare even Goddess Sita. We are not shocked that you betrayed the man who made sure that Lord Ram came out of that small tent and was installed in a beautiful temple. The entire nation will never see you with respect again.”
In another post, he compared the people of Ayodhya to Baahubali’s character Katappa. In the film, Katappa killed his king Amarendra Baahubali.
Sunil Lahri’s co-star Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in the popular television series bagged a seat in Meerut. He congratulated Arun for his win.
