Actress Shweta Tiwari has had quite an illustrious if difficult journey in the TV industry. Now, her daughter Palak has also stepped into the film industry. While the actress has been quite strong as an individual, as a mother she does get scared seeing her daughter face trolling. During an exclusive conversation on SCREEN’s Dear Me… Shweta opened up about Palak’s link-up rumors.
Talking about Palak’s dating rumors, Shweta said, “Rumors don’t bother me anymore, in all these years I have realized people’s memory only last for 4 hours. They will forget the news after that, so why bother? As per rumours, my daughter is dating every third guy, and I am getting married every year. As per the internet, I am already married thrice. These things don’t affect me now, earlier they did when social media was not there and when some journalist never liked writing good things about you. Negativity about actors sell. After dealing with that era, this doesn’t affect me.”

Shweta also spoke about Palak facing trolling on social media, “Earlier the audience was simpler, it was not difficult to convince them. But now in this era of social media, the audience has become aware, they bully you. I evolved because I had a daughter, and I have learned a lot growing up with her. My daughter learned how to deal with trolling first, during my time social media was not very happening, so I didn’t know how to deal with trolls, but then I saw Palak handling them and that’s how I learned.”
Shweta added, “It does scare me at times. No matter how Palak looks, she is very innocent, she can never give it back to people. This era of trolling has gotten so ugly, even though she is strong, I wonder what if it affects her, if she gets underconfident, then what? That scares me. People have tried to pull her down, but she doesn’t read comments. But you never know what can be hurtful. When she gets trolled, it affects me a lot.”
Talking about her bond with Palak, Shweta said, “Once my few friends were sitting and during a conversation, Palak said my mother isn’t scared of anything. After that comment, I couldn’t eat. I felt so pressured because it’s not like I don’t get scared, but her belief that I am strong, what if that breaks some day? So now I always put up a strong front, and I want both my children to believe I am fearless and standing with them forever.”
On a parting note, Shweta also added, “I know that nothing is permanent, whether a good time or a bad time. I will lose people so I don’t get attached to anyone, I meet new people but I don’t get disheartened. I am loved, no matter what.”
