Television actress Saloni Chopra is making headlines, but this time not for her sexy avatar. Saloni, better known for her show MTV Girls on Top, is making a strong point through a series of pictures she shared on her Instagram profile. She undertook a bold photoshoot, but not to show her glamorous side. It was rather an attempt at breaking stereotypes in the society and highlighting sensitive issues pertaining to women.
We have seen recently how celebrities are coming out and openly speaking about topics like feminism and women empowerment. While some did a great job, some were trolled. But Saloni’s attempts are rather praise-worthy. The set of five pictures she has posted have powerful captions. She has tried to raise issues like rape, sexuality and slut shaming. She is seen holding placards too. While some read ‘I am a rape victim’, in another one it says ‘I want to explore my sexuality’. Despite her posing topless in one of the pictures, it isn’t taking away the attention from the strong points she is making. And she is doing a pretty good job!
25-year-old Saloni had also recently called the beauty industry ‘hoax’ and talked about body image too. Applause to her for swimming against the current!
