Ever since Ashneer Grover’s Rise and Fall was released, fans have been pitting it against Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 19. Given the unpleasant history between Salman and Ashneer from Bigg Boss last year, many were curious to see how the two shows would perform in terms of viewership. According to a new Ormax Media report, Salman’s Bigg Boss 19 has topped the charts, followed by Ashneer’s Rise and Fall.

According to the report, Bigg Boss Season 19 garnered 7.8 million OTT views last week, securing the top spot. Ashneer Grover’s Rise and Fall ranked second with 4.9 million views. Amitabh Bachchan–hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 claimed third place with 2.8 million views, overtaking Kapil Sharma’s The Great Indian Kapil Show, which registered 1.7 million views on Netflix. Rounding out the top five was Pati Patni Aur Panga, hosted by Munawar Faruqui and Sonali Bendre, with 1.4 million views.

Earlier, in an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Ashneer Grover had spoken about Rise and Fall’s comparison to Bigg Boss and the Traitors. He said, “There is no fear, it’s a free market, and it’s up to the people to accept it or not. If people are going to see the show for a certain purpose, they will slot you in a certain box. If this reality format, people will club it and compare it to Bigg Boss, which has been around for 19 years, and the Traitors that came a year back. Let there be comparisons, even if they do so; it’s not like the show will shut down, so you have to take it in your stride. One thing I have picked up from Salman and Karan Johar as a host is that you have to watch the show, you can’t be a part of the show, and only go by what is being told to you; you have to watch the show yourself.”
