KBC 11: The Rs 1,60,000 question that Suraj Shevatkar failed to answer
Kaun Banega Crorepati 11: Suraj Ashok Shevatkar took home Rs 10,000 after giving the wrong answer to the ninth question worth Rs 1,60,000.

The first contestant to take the hot seat in Monday’s episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 11 was Suraj Ashok Shevatkar from Maharashtra. He exhausted all his lifelines by the eighth question worth Rs 80,000 and failed to answer the ninth question worth Rs 1,60,000. Ultimately, he took home Rs 10,000 after giving the wrong answer.
The question that Suraj got wrong was, “Which portfolio did the person in this image hold from 1998-2001 and 2001-2004, in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government?” Options were Finance, Defence, External Affairs and Railways. The person shown in the image was George Fernandes.
Despite being unsure, Suraj took the risk and chose Railways as the answer. This was the wrong answer and the correct answer was Defence. With this, Suraj’s winning amount came down to Rs 10,000.
The next contestant to take the hot seat was Pankaj Maheshwari from Jaipur, Rajasthan. He won Rs 3,20,000 without the help of any lifeline. He will resume playing in Tuesday’s episode.
