Shark Tank India 4 is all set to return to the screens in January 2025. The show’s trailer was dropped recently, and while it introduced some new Sharks coming on board, a few other being dropped from the lineup left fans wondering what went wrong. While Deepinder Goyal impressed the audience last year in Shark Tank India, he is missing from this season. The Zomato founder himself had an explanation about his exit from the show.

At an event, Deepinder claimed that he was ‘kicked out’ after Shark Tank India onboarded his business rival Swiggy as sponsors. Now as per a report in India Today, Shark Tank India makers and other judges have reacted to Deepinder’s absence from the show. Responding to this, the newest Shark Viraj Bahl (Founder and MD of Veeba) said, “I am only happy. Deepinder gaya toh mere ko jagah mil gaya (Because Deepinder left, I got this spot). I can write a thank-you note to Zomato.”

While the Sharks were questioned about having specific termination clauses in their contracts at the recently held press meet for the show, SonyLIV’s Business Head, Danish Khan first clarified that while Swiggy was a sponsor on the latest season, its founders wouldn’t appear as Sharks. He also spoke about Deepinder’s exit and said, “Everything that comes in newspapers is not always true. We would love to have him (Deepinder) at some point. One needs to understand that we have around 50 episodes, and there are permutations regarding the sharks’ availability. They are all busy running their organizations, and we get them to spend weekends with us. I won’t say much, but there’s no such thing as reported. Some sharks have been on the show for four seasons, and we hope to see them next time too.”

Aman Gupta (Founder of BoAt) also shared, “Aisa kuch nahi hai (There’s nothing like this). I am the perfect example. I have not sponsored this show, and yet I have been on this show for the last four seasons. So, I will never say that the makers did this for money. I feel indebted that they chose us and made us sharks. I can vouch for it and give in writing that I have not paid a single penny. It’s a beautiful feeling to be here, and I hope it continues. Sharks will come and go; there will always be a change—hopefully, except for me (laughs). But this is life.”

Apart from Viraj Bahl and Aman Gupta, the other sharks who will appear in season 4 include Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Ritesh Agarwal, Peyush Bansal, Azhar Iqubal, Kunal Bahl, and Varun Dua. Shark Tank India 4 will stream on SonyLIV from 6th January 2025.
