On Gauahar Khan’s reaction and becoming an uncle while he is on the show

Awez Darbar is also the brother-in-law of actress Gauahar Khan. While Gauahar has previously won Bigg Boss, she chose not to give Awez any tips for his stint on the show. Sharing how Gauahar reacted, Awez said, “She was very calm and just told me that I don’t want to give you any tips because then it might just influence the journey. She just told me to be myself, and I had a similar thought because if I got influenced, I would play a character in the house.”

Awez also shared how he regrets being away when Gauahar and his elder brother Zaid welcome their second child. “The only regret I have is not being around when Gauahar delivers. I wonder why this show didn’t happen before or later, but I will keep pestering Bigg Boss to tell me when the baby is born. I will keep asking until they tell me,” Awez said.

On his relationship with Nagma Mirajkar

While there have been conflicting reports about Awez Darbar and his girlfriend Nagma Mirajkar’s relationship, the Bigg Boss 19 contestant said he will clear all speculations inside the house. “Nagma being around is going to be a major plus point. I have known her for years; she has been my friend throughout. We have had our ups and downs, which we will clear on the show. People have formed too many perspectives about us, so I will clear everything once I go inside. I will explain everything once and for all. Right now, I don’t want to answer any questions,” Awez stated.

He went on to share, “Even when I’m not doing anything, it’s often projected differently on the outside, which is why I want to clear everything that’s on my mind. I want to feel stress-free about this; beyond that, what people assume is beyond my control. On social media, sometimes you receive love and sometimes you face hate. I don’t want to overthink, I just want to share my perspective openly. The audience is smart enough to understand if a narrative is being set. I’ve always believed one shouldn’t change their life based on people’s opinions. Just do what feels right.”

On the negative image formed about social media influencers through Bigg Boss

In the last few years, a lot of actors have complained that Bigg Boss standards have dropped with social media influencers joining the show. Commenting on the same, Awez said, “I am representing the social media influencer community, so I will try from my end to change any image that has been formed. Everyone has formed a certain judgment about creators, but not all of us are the same. It does upset me when people look at influencers with just one narrative. They should also look at the hard work we put behind getting where we are. Before judging anyone, just see their backstory. If people want to make someone famous, who are we to pass comments. So let’s not try and put anyone down.”

Sharing what people can expect from him on Bigg Boss 19, he said, “I am a decent guy. I will be the first one to apologize after a fight. I am not so much into arguing, and I have always been very disciplined. Being a teacher has helped me read people better. I wanted to enter the industry as a choreographer, and I always wanted to be behind the camera. But seeing the love, I have always thought of entertaining them. I have never looked at numbers. I live for my fans, I have a responsibility towards them.”
