Anita Hassanandani recalls relationship with Eijaz Khan, says she sacrificed ‘prime career’ for him: ‘Wasn’t sure if he was okay with it’
Anita Hassanandani opened up about her past relationships, and said that she made some bad choices because of her exes.

Anita Hassanandani first became popular on television after she appeared in television shows like Kkavyanjali, Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Kohi Apna Sa, among others, in the early 2000s. She became a massive TV star after she appeared in many of Ekta Kapoor shows of that era. Now, Anita, who is in her 40s, is planning to make a comeback. In a recent interview, she shared that it is difficult to find age-appropriate roles in film and television for women of her age. Anita also looked back on the compromises that she made in her career because of romantic partners.
In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Anita said that it is “tough to find appropriate roles in (her) age.” She added that if one wants to do “something meaty, (one has) to wait it out.” Anita was one of the most popular television actors of her era, and she also appeared in a few Hindi films like Kucch To Hai and Krishna Cottage. Looking back, she shared that she let go of many opportunities in her career because of her romantic relationships.
Anita once dated actor Eijaz Khan, and she shared that her only regret from that time is that sacrificed the prime of her career. Opening up about her past relationship, she said, “I learnt a lot, I became a better person, we were just two very good people not good for each other. The only thing I regret is that I let go of my prime career.” Anita said that she was offered “a Tamil film Varsham” but she didn’t do it.
Anita said that she “wasn’t sure if Eijaz was okay with it.” She added, “He didn’t stop me, but because I wanted to overdo in the relationship, I made a few bad career moves.” Anita also spoke about other previous relationships as well, and said that while none of her partners forced her to make certain career choices, they made it known if they were not okay with something.
Without naming another ex, Anita said, “I gave up on a lot of my career. Not that he forced me to but he always said that I wouldn’t want you to do a film or wouldn’t want you to do a scene like this or whatever so I let go of a lot of great opportunities for me. Because for me, love or relationship was more important at that point. That’s my only regret. You change a bit in love to impress the other person. You want them to love you a little more so you do certain things.”
Anita got married to Rohit Reddy in 2013. They are parents son their son Aaravv.
