Amitabh Bachchan reaches KBC set 3 hours early even after hosting it for 20 years, worries about forgetting his lines: Abhishek Bachchan

It isn’t just Amitabh Bachchan’s colleagues, even his son and actor, Abhishek Bachchan, can’t stop raving about the megastar’s work ethic. In a recent interview, Abhishek shared insights into the megastar’s work ethic, particularly in his role as the host of the television game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), which he has been hosting for over two decades.

Speaking to Humans Of Bombay, Abhishek revealed, “My father is currently shooting for KBC. Just the fact that the guy is working six days a week at the age of 81 is baffling to me.” Abhishek also revealed that despite a long day of filming, Big B returns home by 11 pm and instead of resting, he engages in writing his blog and responding to messages on Twitter.

Abhishek went on to highlight the extent of Amitabh’s commitment and shared that even after late nights, the megastar arrives on the KBC set early in the morning the next day to rehearse for the show. Abhishek shared, “He will wake up in the morning and be like, ‘Oh my god. How am I going to shoot for KBC? I have to go and rehearse my lines.’ He starts shooting for the show at 11 in the morning but he reaches the set early at 7:30 am to rehearse. When I ask him, ‘You have been doing this for 20 years, do you still need to rehearse?’ He replies, ‘Yes, yes what if I forget?’ He is genuine, he is not putting it on. I think that’s why he is so great because for him it’s all about the work.”

Kaun Banega Crorepati made its TV debut in 2000, with Amitabh Bachchan as the host from the very first season. Although Shah Rukh Khan hosted Season 3, Amitabh soon returned and has been hosting the show since then. The actor will soon return on television with the 15th season of the show.
