Looks like the answer to the burning question of Tamil cinema has a positive answer. Ever since it was announced Lokesh Kanagaraj is teaming up with Vijay, fans of the director and the actor have been wondering if the film is part of Lokesh Kanagaraj‘s Cinematic Universe (fondly known as LCU). The fictional universe already has Karthi’s Kaithi and Kamal Haasan’s Vikram. A recent development has confirmed that Leo is part of it too!

According to a report published by Times of India, the makers of Leo recently met with the producers of Kaithi and Vikram to obtain a No-Objection Certificate (NOC). Ahead of Vikram’s release, an NOC was obtained by Raaj Kamal Films International from producer SR Prabhu to use the costumes and other elements of Kaithi in Virkam. Now, similarly, Seven Screen Studios has gotten an NOC from producers of Vikram and Kaithi.

On top of that, in a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Lokesh was asked the ‘big question’. The director said, “I can’t say, sir. Just because it will spoil the suspense.” However, his other statements during the interview hinted that the film is very much part of LCU.

While talking about his collaboration with Anirudh Ravichander in Leo, Lokesh Kanagaraj said that it is easy to work with friends as they know what he wants. “We all are similar people. We keep trying to do things that we haven’t done before. We can’t do a few things just because it comes under the universe… we have to work within that like matching the lighting and all that,” he said. The statement pretty much reveals that Leo is part of the universe as the colour tone and the palette of the film is similar to Vikram and Kaithi.

Now, that we know Leo is in LCU, it is just a matter of time before we know how Vikram, Kaithi, and Leo are connected. Now, the new big question is if all these superstars will ‘assemble’ for one epic scene.

Leo will be out on October 19.
